As human beings, the body, mind, and spirit are housed in the physical body. Colon hydrotherapy works with the “whole” individual to assist in creating true vibrant health from the inside out.

The colon, or large intestine, is the end portion of the human digestive tract. The colon is about 5 to 5.5 feet long and 2.5 inches in diameter. Its primary functions are to conserve water and eliminate waste.

During the therapy, the client lies on a treatment table in cozy comfort while filtered and temperature-regulated water is infused into the large intestine dislodging fecal matter from the colon wall. The dislodged fecal matter is gently washed away through the system’s waste disposal hose. No chemicals or drugs are involved and the entire therapy is both relaxing and effective. Water temperature and pressure are closely monitored and can be varied to stimulate peristalsis (muscular contraction) in the colon.

Colon Hydrotherapy encourages the restoration of the colon’s natural function by strengthening peristalsis. Today’s technology promotes both the safety and sanitation of this cleansing practice. Modern colon hydrotherapy equipment is manufactured in compliance with strict FDA guidelines. The FDA-registered equipment features temperature-controlled water mixing, backflow prevention valves, pressure and temperature sensors, built-in chemical sanitizing, and a water purification unit. After each session, the unit is thoroughly cleansed and disinfected for future use. Disposable single-use tubes and specula are utilized.

Suggestions for Preparing for Colon Hydrotherapy
Stop drinking liquids 1 hour before. Allow at least 1 hour between eating and your appointment.  Consider avoiding carbonated beverages for 48 hours before your treatment. Consider eliminating the following, especially while receiving colonic treatments: ice cream, fried and high-fat foods, salty or smoked foods, carbonated drinks, highly refined grains and flour products, white sugar(stops the detoxification process), and any foods that are difficult for you to digest, chewing gum (stomach continues to release enzymes for food digestion, so can create gas).
